Hang Gliding and Parapenting

  • Hang Gliding and Parapenting

In both these modalities, the person can take off and land using his/her legs. With parapenting, with a little more than 30 m2 of nylon, anyone can make man’s oldest dream come true: flying like the birds without needing complicated apparatus or powerful engines. Their lightness, transport ease and relative short training period make this sport the simplest way to stay in the air. Hang gliding, however, is heavier and bulkier, although in offers better flying characteristics.

No special requirements are necessary: mountains with suitable slopes and a prepared take-off area if necessary, an access road for vehicles and a field in the valley to land in. In our region there are many places with excellent characteristics to practise this, and both Spanish people and foreigners come here to practise the support. Castejon de Sos in the valley of Esera is one of those ideal places where national championships and international trials are carried out, proving the excellent situation of Aragon.
