Other Fiestas of Interest in Teruel

Alcala de la Selva. The 8 September is the Virgin of the Vega, there is a procesión to the shrine and different popular acts are held.

Alcañiz. The patron saints’ feast days of Our lady of Pueyos and Santo Angel Custodio are held from 9 September onwards. The procession to the Sanctuary and the car races are two of the most outstanding acts. Expo-Classic: Antique car Fair, day of the Constitution.

Alcorisa. Fiesta of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on 14 September.

Alloza. Fiestas of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on 14 September.

Argente. Traditional procession to the hermitage of St. Quiteria on 22 May.

Bronchales. Patron saints’ fiestas in honour of the Assumption and St. Roque (15and 16 August). Chicken dance contest with different “jota” (typical dance) styles.

Burbaguena. Feast day of St. Bernabe the Apostle from 10 to 12 September, dates, when a traditional procession to the shrine takes place.

Calaceite. The Carnivals stand out.

Calamocha. Feast Day of St. Roque, 16 August. Procession to the hermitage of the saint. Agricultural Machinery Fair, at the end of October and beginning of November.

Cantavieja. Traditional cattle fair on the third Sunday in September.

Castellote. Procession men to the “Llovedor”. On the 1st of May, night procession, only for men, to ask the Virgin for rain.

Cedrillas. Traditional cattle fair at the end of September and beginning October.

Frias de Albarracin. The celebration of the Hábeas Christi stands out.

Guadalaviar. Patron saint’s feast day of Santiago (25 July). On the 29th the Meat Day is celebrated.

Montalban. On 1 June the procession to the hermitage of the Saints takes place.

Mosqueruela. Procession of the Virgin of the Estrella on the las Sunday in May.

Puebla de Hijar. Bonfires os St. Antón (17 January)

Teruel. Ham Festival. En of September: Popular Festival for tasting the ham of Teruel.

Valderrobres. Carnival. This period starts with a “fantasmada“ and the arrival of the carnival, a doll that will be burnt on the last niht. On the Saturday “calmante” is given out until daylight.
