Ramon Pignatelli by Goya
Ramon Pignatelli (1734-1793). Patron of Zaragoza (Saragossa), who was an engineer and vice-chancellor of the University of Zaragoza. Amongst his works he ordered the construction of the Imperial Canal, the bullring and the Casa Misericordia (Mercy House). He created the Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País (Economic Society of the Friends of the Country) in Aragon.
